This role supports HR and Finance systems, balancing legacy system expertise with our cloud modernization strategy. This is a unique position where the ideal candidate has a strong technical background, eagerness to learn, and the drive to become a SME in a current application while building skills for future applications.

Position: Senior Application Specialist
Shift: Day.
****Remote Position (Must be available to work during Eastern Time Zone hours)****
Essential Accountabilities:
- Design and configure application solutions by translating business requirements into technical designs and tasks, leveraging in-depth knowledge of application architecture.
- Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and resolve complex application and integration issues, ensuring system stability and efficiency.
- Establish and maintain application design, configuration, and coding standards to optimize performance, supportability, and maintainability.
- Provide regular updates on project tasks and deliverables, and stay informed about new features and tools from MLH vendors, sharing relevant updates with the team and management.
- Assist in evaluating and selecting application solutions and utility software, contributing insights to improve decision-making.
- Participate in on-call rotations and address critical issues outside standard rotations when necessary.
- Identify trends in recurring issues, develop root cause analyses, and recommend operation or system changes to mitigate future problems.
- Support process improvement initiatives and root cause investigations to enhance team effectiveness.
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans and QA strategies for new systems or modifications.
- Adhere to ITIL-based change management processes for production migrations and document all system processes and modifications comprehensively.
Experience:
1. 2+ years IT experience. Demonstrated in depth knowledge of application software, application integration and ability to leverage application knowledge and tools to meet operational needs of organization.
2. Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform duties of the job is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
3. Strong organizational, planning and project management skills required.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or other technical related field from an accredited institution or equivalent experience preferred.
