- Make an Impact! The Licensed Practical Nurse makes observations and collects data to assist the RN for assessment. The Licensed Practical Nurse implements physiological and psychological care for patients as planned by and under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse. Utilizing knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of these patients, the Licensed Practical Nurse demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care. The Licensed Practical Nurse demonstrates competencies in evidence based nursing practice, in consultation with the Registered Nurse for planning and clinical decision making, using the best available research evidence, clinical expertise and patient preference. The Licensed Practical Nurse engages in clinical, departmental, and shared decision-making initiatives, resulting in a culture of safety and a superior patient experience. The Licensed Practical Nurse identifies each patient's requirements in accordance with regulatory standards, the PA LPN Nurse Practice Act, and MLH policies and procedures.

Position: Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN - Spruce Unit (Amputee and Spinal Cord Inj)
Shift: 36 hours/week, Evening Shift (11:00a-11:30p) with weekend and Holiday rotations
Experience:
Unit-specific: At least (1) year of recent Acute Rehab, or relate Inpatient experience
Education:
1. Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
2. Ability to communicate proficiently in English to perform job duties
Licensures/Certifications:
1. A current PA LPN license or temporary practice permit to practice in PA OR a multi-state license verified in one of the approved states through the Nursing Licensure Compact.
2. Maintains validation of current BLS training (CPR).
3. Certification in specialty area desired
