Position: Revenue Analyst-Hospital Billing
Shift: Full-Time. Day Shift. Remote (with occasional in-office requirements).
Essential Accountabilities:
- Support the Revenue Cycle Team by building routine and ad-hoc reports and analyzing data pertinent to identifying gaps in the process that negatively impact revenue and reimbursement.
- Analyze charges, collections and reimbursement, and payment activity patterns to help identify trends and research issues related to reimbursement, billing, contracting, and overall process.
- Analyze large sets of often complex data and summarize the information to draw meaningful business conclusions that help the Revenue Cycle Central Business Office and Single Billing Office identify areas
for improvement - Construct and report a monthly reporting package consisting of denial trends, aged AR, high-dollar accounts, and other items as requested to share with respective facility Finance Directors and Operational Leaders
- Develop tables, stored procedures, graphs, narratives, presentations, and reporting media to facilitate understanding of the results and the ability to act on findings. Use proprietary software packages (e.g., MS Excel, MS Access, SAP Business Intelligence) to create user-friendly data collection systems and efficient reporting and analysis outputs.
- Create and maintain automated reconciliation tools (e.g., via Access database or equivalent) to manage vendor-assigned accounts in an efficient manner and aid in the automation of invoice reconciliation for vendors.
- Responsible to track and convey vendor performance via reporting.
- Serves as a key reporting resource for annual external audits, MLH Internal Audit, MLH Compliance, and organization effectiveness engagements.
- Present integrated data from various report databases seamlessly by utilizing an advanced knowledge of available Microsoft Office tools: Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
- Develop and establish guidelines, standards, methodologies, and conventions for report writing and documentation. Maintain reporting inventory and reporting templates, including the history of report production.
- Participate in operational and technical meetings to understand business needs and how reports will satisfy end-user requirements. Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure reporting output is
consistent with business objectives.
Experience:
3-5 years healthcare billing experience and/or accounts receivable experience utilizing automated patient accounting. Additional Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
•Microsoft Office applications experience. Advanced Excel proficiency required. MS Access and Crystal
Reports or equivalent.
•Knowledge of insurance contracts, billing regulations and medical terminology preferred.
•Knowledge of HCPCS/CPT/ICD-10 and revenue codes preferred.
•Strong written/oral communications and problem-solving skills required.
•Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills required.
Education:
Required/Preferred Education Level
Minimum/Required High School or GED
Preferred 4 Year / Bachelors Degree
Licensures/Certifications:
•Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS)/American Association of Healthcare Administrative
Management (AAHAM), or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR)/Healthcare Financial
Management Association desirable
