The Lead Technologist will perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic and bacteriological testing in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of disease while assisting the manager for the general daily operations of the department. The Lead Technologist will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide testing services to support patients and the community.

Position: Lead Technologist
Shift: 1:30pm - 11:30pm (four - 10 hour shifts and every other weekend)
Experience:
Previous Clinical Laboratory Scientist experience preferred.
Skills necessary to perform procedures contained in the Laboratory Procedure manual to include specimen processing test performance and reporting of test results.
Ability to distinguish color differences.
Demonstrated technical problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to troubleshoot instrument problems.
Demonstrated skills in organizing, prioritizing and problem solving.
Demonstrated communication skills.
Previous laboratory computer system experience preferred.
Education:
Graduation from an approved Clinical Laboratory Scientist program or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Bachelor’s degree required.
Associate Degree or equivalent education may be acceptable provided it meets the grandfather clause set forth by CLIA.
Licensures/Certifications:
MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
