In this role, you would be responsible to meet SPD requirements by performing and ensuring that all cleaning, decontamination, instrument tray assembly, sterilization and sterility monitoring processes are performed. Use your effective communication and leadership skills to coordinate assignments, monitor Sterile Processing Technician performance and productivity, train new employees, provide on-going education to staff, determine instrument/tray recall needs, and function as the liaison between Sterile Processing and OR/OB/Surgicenter and ancillary departments.

Position: Lead Sterile Processing Technician
Shift: Day
Experience:
1. Minimum of 3 years experience in OR instrumentation procedures required.
2. Knowledge of Joint Commission, Local, State, and Federal regulations pertaining to Sterile Processing.
Education:
1. High School diploma required.
2. Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Experience and/or technical knowledge of Sterile Processing may be used in lieu of degree).
Licensures/Certifications:
1. CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) is required through IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management).
2. Lead Sterile Processing Technicians with a CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) certification through CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) will need to transfer to the CRCST certification within 6 months of their date of hire.
