The Counselor, Art Therapist utilizes the therapeutic medium of art to address holistic needs, offer a means of expression, enhance quality of life, and support end of life experiences of Hospice patients and families through a meaningful creative arts engagement. The Counselor, Art Therapist is responsible to assess, plan and coordinate therapeutic activities utilizing art media for patients and families served by the Hospice program. S/he leads groups, as well as individually designed activities, treatment, and therapeutic treatment for Hospice patients and their families. The Counselor will record and communicate to other members of the hospice interdisciplinary group regarding the therapeutic plan of care and outcomes of interventions.

Position: Counselor, Art Therapist
Shift: 20 hours per week, Day Shift 

Experience: 
Two years experience working with the terminally ill, bereavement, or hospice/ palliative care clients and families preferred.

Education: 
1. Completion of the required curriculum consistent with therapeutic modality educational standards of the AATA (American Art Therapy Association.

2. Masters Degree in Art Therapy or Masters Degree with emphasis in Art from an accredited institution.

Licensures/Certifications: 
1. Board certified (ATR - BC) or eligible for board certification within one year of hire.

2. Registered with National Art Therapy Registry (NATR).

3. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.

Requirements:

      This position requires you to wear a respirator as part of the job requirement.
