Nurse Residency Program – all locations & specialties

Main Line Health’s Nurse Residency Program supports the professional growth and development of upcoming or recent graduate nurses. We offer two cohorts each year to accommodate different graduation timelines. To find the application period that aligns with your graduation date, see below:

2025 Nurse Residency Application Dates:

December 1, 2024: For nurses graduating between January and June 2025

August 1, 2025: For nurses graduating between July and December 2025

All graduate nurses interested in employment with Main Line Health are required to submit an application to the Nurse Residency job posting. By applying to the general posting, you will be considered for all available positions within the cohort and may specify preferred units for consideration. Please note that individual Registered Nurse positions posted on our careers page require at least one year of experience as a licensed nurse (RN).

Perioperative Nurse Residency Program
Main Line Health offers a specialized Perioperative Nurse Residency Program for new graduate nurses seeking a career in the Operating Room (OR). This program provides in-depth training and skill development across various surgical specialties. While Perioperative Nurse Residents participate in the general Nurse Residency cohort, this program has additional requirements specific to the perioperative environment. A separate application will be posted for candidates interested in applying.

Current Nursing Students

Nurse Extern Program
The Nurse Extern Program provides nursing students with hands-on experience in an acute care setting while working in a nursing support role. Open to freshman, sophomore, and junior nursing students, this year-round program offers flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and a direct path to a Nurse Resident position after graduation. It is an excellent opportunity to build clinical skills and gain valuable experience in preparation for a nursing career.
